Well, I would dare say in art shows past, if I walked away with more than I invested in the art show (booth fee, application fee, framing and material costs), then it was a success. This doesn't always happen. It gets really sad when your mom wants to buy something to make you feel better. However, I was jammed packed with friends coming to see me, support me, love me, and cheer me on. I met some new friends who took my business card, and some old friends who showed up at the last minute to make sure I still had a painting they wanted, and they bought it. But the most important thing I learned from this, they didn't have to come at all, they chose to! Everyone made my booth a stop on a day filled with anything from shopping for the family, to heading out of town, to driving up from many miles away just to give me a hug. Success!
